They only had black rhinos when I was here last and since they have gotten these two white rhinos who religiously try to run away and are not friendly, but they are hoping to make the baby of these two better with people. White rhino were actually named "Wide" rhino because of their wide mouths but it got changed into white from wide. They just eat on the ground and their mouths look like they have a harmonica inside their mouth and they are like a law mover. They are a lot bigger then the black rhino, and are going extinct like black rhino and this is the first of breeding them too. There is also a picture of me and Judy...I was so glad to see them all!
We had tea with Judy before going to breakfast. I of course was loving the zebra but Charlie was loving the sugar bowl and was attacking it. Then I love Amy petting the dog's head while he's resting it on the warthog. I was feeding Charlie in the kitchen and Gabbi was finding her own breakfast on the floor of the kitchen....I love the foster home that John and Judy run!
Here are some more scenic pictures of Jody and I while riding. I was always way behind because more horse felt like acting like acting old so we had to trot a lot to catch up.
After trying to steal a baby zebra we went on a horse ride (Judy led Jody and I, while Amy went with Bright so they could ride faster). So there is a picture with me and the sable we found in the back of the picture and the baby look good. Then the next picture is Enzo (the elephant that takes care of the buffalo, was there and smelling us). The third picture is of Gabbi the warthog following us on the walk, and then wildebeest. It was such a wonderful walk to be in nature with all the sounds and smells....I just love it!
The last time I was here John and Judy had Totsie, the hyena, but unfortunately he had to be killed due to a threat to their daughter, and it is a very hard story for all involved. So now since they have raised so many animals, such as Tatinda (the rhino) and Pug (the warthog) and Totsie (the hyena). Now they have Mongo, the mongoose in the first picture, and Gabbi the warthog (who is pregnant) and Charlie (the CUTEST zebra EVER). Yes I did try to pick him up to see if I could carry him home, needless to say he wasn't the biggest fan. But he is sooooooo cute and has a crazy mane! But is it not insanely cute, him standing at the door waiting for breakfast...i mean REALLY...cutest thing ever!
So it is actually really sweet and funny....when Greg drops off the volunteers with the elephants then the kids of the staff usually jump in his pickup and he drives them most of the way to school to the road and they walk the rest of the way. Most all, all i have ever seen, schools have uniforms, just like these kids. But the kids are so funny and sweet when they get the ride because it saves them a lot of walking time. The first picture is them getting dropped off on the road and running to school, not far away. Then scenery, and Tatinda the rhino getting snacks and showing you the tongue lip things that helps them wrap around branches when black rhinos are eating.
